Sea

The main reason why tourists visit the Punta Ala’s area is for sure the beautiful sea and beaches; guests can find here a vast variety of beaches equipped with all the needs, plenty of room an shallow water perfect for kids of all ages, as well as dogs friendly beaches. Guests can enjoy in the vicinity the famous “Cala Violina” beach and many other characteristic bays, with a limited access but with an undeniable wild charm. Cliff lovers can enjoy many kilometres of coast between “Punta Ala” and “Rocchette” or in the “Cala Violina” area, where they can find wild coast and a crystal clear water, perfect for snorkelling and fishing.

Leaving the Punta Ala area direction south, how not to mention the beautiful beach and National park of “Uccellina” which is a perfect representation of the Maremma’s wild charm, in the north side instead, the evocative beach of “Baratti” with the adjacent “Etruschi” ruins of Populonia.

Sport and leisure activities

The guests can enjoy numerous leisure activities in the vicinity of the structure, including:

Raft and boats rental, sailing school, kitesurf and windsurf, snorkelling, diving, kayak and boat excursions to the beautiful islands of the Tuscan archipelago.

Mountain bike, E bike and hiking lovers can enjoy the numerous trails characterizing the famous “Bandite” trail area; many trails of different difficulty levels lead to the beautiful beaches (Cala Violina included) from the close hills of Scarlino, Tirli and Castiglione della Pescaia. From the Agriturismo guests can easily follow a path of about 2 km, which leads directly to the beach, surrounded by pinewoods and flourishing countryside.

Guests can also enjoy two Golf courses in the vicinity (Punta Ala and Toscana/Pelagone golf clubs) as well as the possibility to do horseback riding in the two horse farms of Pian D’Alma and Punta Ala.

History

The surrounding hills are characterized by typical medieval villages with high historical walls to defend the village against enemies attacks and the typical “Rocca”, characteristic of the belligerent past typical of this area. The region is also full of ancient “Etruschi” ruinse, such as the important grave and archaeological museum of “Vetulonia” and the ruins of “Roselle”.

Gastronomy

The region is located on the heart of typical “Morellino di Scansano” and “Monteregio” vineyards; the visitors can find here many local companies and farms with the possibility to experience delicious tasting; the Maremma region distinguishes itself for a great passion and tradition for food, what is suggestede is to go hunting for the many typical “trattoria” where to enjoy a typical and delightful dinner.
